Three things cause organic material to degrade and lose freshness:

Harvest Right has a solution for these problems:

• Harvest Right's Pharmaceutical Freeze Dehydrator removes water from plants and organic compounds while they are frozen. This preserves the freshness of herbs and plants. Their appearance, nutritional content, and potency remain the same as when they were fresh.

• Freeze-drying completely removes water in approximately 24 hours. No other preservation method comes close to removing water as quickly. This is important because the longer a harvested plant or compound retains water, the greater the likelihood that it will spoil and lose nutrition and potency.

• Most water extraction methods destroy enzymes and terpenes due to the heat used in the extraction process. Since the freeze-drying process doesn't use heat to remove water, the enzymes and terpenes in freeze-dried products are not destroyed.

• Oxygen absorbers can be used to protect packaged foods and organic compounds from spoilage, mold growth, color change, and nutritional loss. By removing residual oxygen within the packaging to less than 0.01%, oxygen absorbers effectively preserve packaged foods without the need for additives/preservatives or vacuum sealing.

Oil Changes

• This new industrial pump rarely needs oil changing or filtering. The pump has a gas ballast feature that prevents water from remaining in the oil. Because of this, the oil in the pump will be clean and clear, even after 30 or more batches. You simply won't need to change the oil until you've run 25 to 40 batches. In contrast, the oil in the standard vacuum pump needs to be changed and filtered every 4 or 5 batches (when using the new 3/8-inch vacuum hose).

Vacuum Pressure

• Under cold and warm conditions, the industrial pump will draw a deeper vacuum than the standard pump. In cold conditions, the difference is 0.05 Pascal for the industrial pump and 0.08 Pascal for the standard pump. In warm conditions, the difference is much greater: 0.05 Pascal for the industrial pump and 2.05 Pascal for the standard pump.

Therefore, the industrial pump is not affected by warm ambient conditions. When temperatures rise, it will extract a much better vacuum than the standard pump. The industrial pump is not affected by external heat and maintains the same deep vacuum even in a warm environment.

Noise

• The industrial pump is significantly quieter than the standard pump, 52 decibels versus 64 decibels. At 52 decibels, the industrial pump is approximately equal to the noise of a refrigerator.

Oil Mist Filter

• Both pumps come with an oil mist filter. However, the industrial pump's oil mist filter prevents any oil mist and will last much longer.

Energy Use

• The industrial pump uses less energy than the standard pump (187 watts vs. 218 watts).

Amperage

• Under warm conditions at maximum vacuum pressure, the standard pump draws 2.1 amps, while the industrial pump only draws 1.7 amps. Therefore, the industrial pump is more efficient.

Weight

• The industrial pump is easier to move, as it weighs 5 pounds less than the standard pump (32 lbs vs. 37 lbs).

Durability

• The industrial pump is more durable and will have a longer lifespan than the standard pump.
